Helpless

Our target is to do 50 cleft lip/palate surgeries during 6 days. DCH said there are "thousands" of these children seen at their clinics and have assured MERCY time and time again that it won't be a problem to get at least 50 patients here, confirmed they are contacting more patients, said there are twelve patients waiting in the ward when there are actually only three... There are SO MANY children in Bangladesh who need this surgery, parents who would do anything for this chance. The surgery is free. The travel is paid for. Food is paid for. Post-operative care is paid for.

Today, a team of skilled Malaysian plastic surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR nurses have nothing to do and are touring the Wilson Arsenic Project in Sirajdikhan.
